You’ve got questions, here are the answers!
Q: What time does this shindig start?
A: 6pm is when it starts, but you can show up whenever you want. (Within reason and as long as it is after 6pm.) It is an “open house” style gala. However, the food will not be served after 8:00 pm. So, you may want to arrive sooner rather than later.
Q: What time does this shindig end?
A: When we get tired and ask everyone to go home. So probably about 6:30pm. 😊
Q:What happens if the weather is bad?
A: Great question! Since there are so many guests planning to come and so much of this celebration is scheduled to take place outside there is the possibility that a rain date may be required if the weather doesn’t cooperate. We will still get married that day, but if the weather is bad or the grounds have been muddied by prior bad weather, we may need to move the celebration indoors which would mean limiting the guests to family and friends who have already made plans to travel from out of town. We would then schedule a “rain date” to celebrate with everyone else. We will reach out to everyone as much in advance as possible if a rain date is required, and you can check back here as well. But, please pray for good weather and send us your good juju!
Q: Will there be food?
A: You bet! Come hungry, we got grub!
Q: Where is this at?
A: Visit the “directions” page. That’s why we made it.
Q: Can I bring friends?
A: If your friend’s name was on the invitation, then of course! If not, No! Invitation only (and significant others).
Q: What should I wear to this?
A: This is not a dressy event, but you also shouldn’t come in cut off jean shorts and a Dan Marino football jersey either. Wear something casual/comfortable. Common sense will prevail! If you feel like swimming, bring your swimsuit too. (No birthday suits please).
Q: Did I hear something about a petting zoo?
A: You sure did. We will have farm animals that you can pet (but not take home). We have bunnies, screaming goats, a Burmese python, a narwhal, 2 unicorns, a griffin, 3 white Bengal tigers (take that Siegfried & Roy), 16 goldfish, a really lazy cheetah, a dragon, 2 dogs, and whatever else wanders onto the property.
Q: If I have questions at the celebration is there someone I should speak with?
A: Speak to anyone but the bride or groom! In all seriousness, Michel Darland is the de facto coordinator for the evening. There will also be many servers and attendants who should be able to direct you and answer all your questions.
Q: What else can I expect?
A: We got karaoke, food, beer, cake, friends, and family. What more do you need?
Q: What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
A: What do you mean, and African or European swallow?
